We saw the occasional monkey cross the road as we made our way to the small coastal town, where we caught a small boat to the cave. The tide was out so we had to fill in time by visiting and swimming from a large sand island. The tide was still low when we arrived at the location of the cave. Our boat was parked 300 meters away from the pier, The walk to the pier in the shallow water, allowed us to wonder at the amount of large two-tone brown starfish scattered all around us. The cave itself has a steep wooden ladder at the entrance. They say it is best to arrive around 10 am as the sun is at the right height to fill the cave with light. We arrived later and the cave was partially filled with light. You need to climb down a rocky surface to the water which may be challenging for some. The experience was well worth the effort. Whilst we could swim in safety, and could see the water's edge in natural light, the back of the cave on our visit was black with no light. For us, this just added to the mystery of the cave. We loved the visit.
